What can actually be quite simple: eat foods that energize and nourish your body, has been made very complex and complicated by the diet industry. One program tells you to eat high fat, one diet tell you to eat low fat, another tells you to cut carbohydrates, while another encourages you to eat lots of whole grains. So, what’s the right answer?

In short, the right answer is to avoid any program or diet that includes strict rules and requires you to omit entire food groups. These types of programs and diets are not sustainable and are the reason why so many of us struggle to lose weight and struggle even more to keep it off. Once the diet ends and those rules are no longer in place it’s easy to feel lost and unsure of what to do. That’s because those programs and diets do not educate consumers on proper nutrition. In fact, they prefer their consumers to not know very much about nutrition so people will continue to rely on these products that will claim to “change your life.”
